When your system is need of regular maintenance and/or repair, KB Sprinklers will service ALL irrigation brands!  Our technicians are knowledgeable and reliable and will be out to get the job done as quickly as possible! We only install Rainbird and Hunter products due to their superior quality and excellent warranty.

Winterization

Ready for the changing of the seasons? We are ready to prepare your sprinkler system for the coming winter! Fall blow out includes blowing the water out of the sprinkler system with an air compressor to properly prepare for the inevitable freeze.

We blow out thousands of sprinkler systems every year. While we can’t GUARANTEE there won’t be issues/damage in the spring to outdoor sprinkler components due to winter weather we do everything we can to help prevent them. In order to prepare vacuum breakers we open the text cocks, turn and leave the ball valves at a 45 degree angle and open outdoor drain valves.

If unexpected bad weather is coming before all sprinklers are blown out we do our best to notify our customers that they need to prepare their system for it as well as give them simple steps they can take to do this. These notifications are typically done by email and text message (you must be opted in to our emails and texts to receive notification).

There are other issues that can cause damage over the winter. Some of these are:

• Weeping main shut off valves – A weeping main shut off valve will allow water to slowly fill your mainline and make its way back to your vacuum breaker. This can sometimes take over a month to happen. The water build up will eventually result in freeze damage to the vacuum breaker, the pipe on the outside of the house or the ball valves.
• Defective controllers – If your controller is defective and we are unable to locate all of your valve boxes there is a chance we will not be able to clear all of your underground lines. If you have been having controller issues please let us know before your appointment.
• Non-functioning electric valves – If you have a valve that won’t turn on at the controller and we can’t locate the valve box to manually open it we won’t be able to blow the water out.

We do our best to notify our customers of any existing damage or faulty components we find at blow out, but some issues may not be noticeable until spring (such as weeping valves). If you suspect an issue with your sprinkler winterization please let us know right away so we can evaluate it.

Retro-Fit Updating

Already have a sprinkler system?  We will tune-up and maintain your pre-existing systems!  We will also modernize and retro-fit existing irrigation systems to take advantage of new water saving technology (e.g.,rain sensors, drip irrigation, ET controllers) whenever possible.  Recently Rainbird has introduced ESP-SMART and ESP-modular controllers that can replace your older controller easily.

Anyone living in Sioux Falls that has a sprinkler system installed before May 12, 2005 is eligible for a $50 rain sensor rebate and an upgrade of their existing controller which is worth an $80 rebate. New in 2019 Brandon Residents are also eligible for a $75.00 rebate on controllers and $50 rebate on adding a rain sensor to your sprinkler system.

Seeding

There are many wonderful seed blends available.  We offer hydro seeding and drill seeding for around half the cost of sod!

Sod Installation

Kentucky Bluegrass was extensively researched and developed to thrive in the cold winters and hot summers experienced in the Midwest. The grass is both cold and drought tolerant, and establishes itself from sod in about 2 weeks.

KB Sprinklers is excited to offer aeration services for even thicker, greener lawns!  Aeration is an important part of lawn maintenance that relieves the soil of compaction.  To grow thick and strong grass, the roots need air, water, and nutrients–aeration involves creating holes in the soil to allow the air, water and nutrients to reach the grass roots, leaving you with strong, thick and green grass!
